Emergency Showers and Eyewash Stations

Emergency showers and eyewash stations are installed at laboratories and areas where there is a high risk of exposure to hazardous substances. The first 10 to 15 seconds after exposure to a hazardous substance, especially a corrosive substance, are critical. Delaying treatment may cause serious injury.

You should get to know the nearest locations of these emergency facilities at your work areas, and learn how to use them properly.

The affected body parts (including eyes) must be flushed immediately and thoroughly for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Medical attention must be sought immediately after first aid has been given.
